The IVE Cafe offers show attendees the opportunity to "test drive" Sony's recently announced Instant Video Everywhere service, or IVE (pronounced "ivy"), in a realistic coffee shop setting. Sony's IVE service, powered by GlowPoint, enables users to conduct "face-to-face" video conversations with colleagues, friends and family as easily as using a telephone. The Sony IVE service is the first comprehensive IP-based video communication solution that can be used anywhere there is broadband access. Using Sony's IVE Mobile service, IVE Cafe visitors will be able to place feature-rich wireless video calls to other IVE Mobile users located around the country, locations with traditional videoconferencing equipment, other video enabled booths at InfoComm, and friends sitting at other IVE Cafe tables. The IVE Mobile service will be showcased exclusively on Sony VAIO laptop computers. Visitors to the Cafe will also be able to experience some of the latest technical and communication advancements from featured mobile communication headset provider Plantronics. Visitors to the IVE Cafe can use Plantronics' award-winning CS50-USB Wireless Office Headset with the Sony IVE Mobile service to experience superior sound quality and privacy while participating in video conferences. CS50-USB wireless users can take conversations up to 200 feet with no cables and can answer and end calls with a simple touch of the button on the headset.
